2014 Cincinnati Transportation Employment Outlook

The Cincinnati-area economy will create 14,200 jobs in 2014, which amounts to a 1.5 percent growth rate. Cincinnati's Gross Regional Product will increase faster than this year's 1.5 percent rate, but slower than the national growth rate of 2.4 percent. Transportation that serves the health care, professional services and hospitality sectors have all surpassed pre-recession employment levels.

For logistics and broker jobs, the Cincinnati airport is the U.S. hub for DHL Worldwide Express, which ships 1.1 million pounds of cargo from the airport daily. For shipping, Cincinnati has the 5th largest inland U.S. Port taking on domestic loads, with approximately 53 million tons of cargo transported annually through Cincinnati on the Ohio River system. Three major railroad systems serve the region.
